5 Stars – 8+ Years of Pure Dominican Deliciousness! Tropical Taste Restaurant is more than a hidden gem — it’s a culinary treasure I’ve been enjoying for over 8 years! I’ve sampled just about everything on the menu, and I can honestly say there hasn’t been a single dish I didn’t love. Every plate is bursting with authentic Dominican flavor, made with care, and served with pride. From the tender meats to the perfectly seasoned rice, the crispy tostones to the rich, savory stews — every bite reminds me why I keep coming back. The staff is always welcoming, and the service is consistent, warm, and efficient. It truly feels like home. If you’re craving soulful, satisfying, made-from-scratch Dominican food, look no further. One of our favorite spots in the city.. one of those places that keeps us excited about the Chicago food scene. Fast and friendly service.. absolutely delicious Dominican food. Few of our favorites are fried redfish, coconut codfish, chicken stew, and oxtail. All of these dishes are absolutely bursting with flavor. Never had a bad meal here…

There's no place like home cooked food. A MUST STOP to eat. You will get your bang for your buck. Lost a star only because there was dessert (Flan) but the owner wasn't there to cut it. Weird but whatever so no dessert for us.

I’ve been to Tropical Taste a handful of times and I always come back for more. The Dominican breakfast is a classic. It’s always fresh and hot. The first time I had it, I craved it for weeks after. Everything I’ve had after the first time was just as good. Yari is the best and I’ll for sure be returning.

I came in here to try Dominican food. I'm glad I did! The food is so good ! I ordered the bistec con arroz and some tostones. The bistec serving was very generous. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I would highly recommend eating here.

i love it here! it’s a quaint establishment with delicious food. the portions are HUGE for the amount of food you get, and each new dish I try, I end up obsessed with. The slim lady who works up front is super sweet too!
